Your Voice.
Your Book.
Professionally Recorded.
There's a world of difference between an author who has narrated their own audiobook confidently and one who sounds like they're reading aloud from a page. At PHQ's Miami narration studio, we help you sound like the first — with engineering support, coaching, and a production environment built for voice.

What to Expect if You're Narrating Your Own Book
Narrating your own audiobook is one of the most personal things an author can do — and it's terrifying for most first-timers. Our Miami narration studio environment is designed to reduce that anxiety and help you find your natural voice on the page.
- Warm-up read before production begins — no cold starts
- Engineer monitors pacing, energy, and clarity in real time
- Retakes happen at natural phrase breaks — minimal disruption
- Coaching available for tone, breath control, and consistency
- Private, quiet environment eliminates performance anxiety triggers
Narration Prep: What to Do Before You Record
1 week before
Read your full manuscript aloud once. Mark anything you stumble on — names, technical terms, unusual phrases.
3 days before
Practice the first chapter at recording pace. Get familiar with your natural speaking rhythm.
The night before
Avoid alcohol. Get 7–8 hours of sleep. Avoid dairy products the next morning.
Morning of
Drink water (not cold). Do 10 minutes of vocal warm-ups (humming, lip trills, gentle reading aloud). Arrive 10 minutes early.
Narration Styles We Support
Self-Narrated
The author reads their own work. Creates authentic connection for nonfiction, memoir, business, and personal development content. We coach you through every chapter.
Best for: Nonfiction, business, memoir, personal brand
Voice Talent
A professional voice actor narrates your book. Better for fiction or technical content where performance quality matters more than author authenticity.
Best for: Fiction, technical, educational content
Multi-Voice
Different narrators for different characters or sections. Common in fiction or collaborative nonfiction. We can accommodate and engineer multi-voice sessions.
Best for: Fiction, anthologies, interview-style books
